Through investigation on 125 individuals belonging to a population of Brown cattle breed in which the genetic variants Tf and Hb have become phenotyped and eight traits of milk production and two reproduction indices were determined, the independent and simultaneous influence of the phenotypes of the loci on the production and reproduction traits were analysed for the first three lactations. For all the three traits investigated, the possessors of alleles HbB and TfO display high values. The simultaneous influence of the two biochemical systems reveal a favorable performance in HbAB TfA individuals and a less favorable one in TfAD individuals. The significance tests of differences between types and their combinations, (except for milk fat content, significantly influenced by phenotype Hb) prove that the remaining production and reproduction traits investigated are not influenced by the hemoglobin and transferrin polymorphism
