A laboratory study on effects of fin clipping on growth of common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.)
1986
Praseno, O. | Yuliati, P.
This experiment was conducted to determine the effect of fin clipping on the growth and mortality of common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.). Three groups of common carps with individual average weight of 20 gram were treated with causal fin clipping, dorsal fin clipping and none respectively. The results showed that there was no significant difference (P0.05) on the weight gain, mortality, food conversion, protein retention, the daily individual growth rate, and relative body width. But lipid retention was highly significantly different (P0.01) between the fish groups with fin clipping and that without clipping.
