[Studies on the root systems of Robusta coffee generated from cuttings]

Studies on the root system of Robusta coffee generated from cuttings have been conducted with emphasis on the characteristics of pseudo-tap root and laterals. Coffee trees generated from seedlings were used as a standard. The results showed that cuttings form a kind of tap root, namely a pseudo-tap root. There was no significant difference in number of big lateral root between cuttings and seedling, however, plants generated from cuttings have smaller lateral roots (diameter 5,0 mm)
