Describes the infectious bacterial disease of goats, sheep, cattle and deer, yersiniosis. This disease is a relative newcomer in New Zealand and is a far more important disease of goats than salmonella. It is also gaining recognition as a human health problem although the role of animals in spreading the disease is not clear. Diagnosis and treatment are discussed
