[Relationship between temperature, protein and sugar content in flower buds of Redhaven grafted on different rootstocks]

The content of soluble proteins, reducing and total sugars has been analysed in flower buds of Redhaven grafted of four rootstocks: Harrowblood, and Siberian C cold resistants, Nemaguard and Rancho Resistant. The analysis started on December, 12th till February, 18th. The higher proteins and sugars content was found in cold resistant rootstocks. A linear relationship has been found between proteins and number of frost hours (0'C), and a logarithmic one with C.H. (7 degrees C), but for Harrowblood only.
