Effect of different content of animal and plant fats in feed mixtures for layers on some indices of egg quality

In two balance experiments with layers SS-288 in the 22nd and 33th week of laying the effect of different contents of metabolizable energy (ME) supplemented by addition of 2 and 6 percent of fat was studied. In the experimental groups A1 and A2 cafileric fat as an energy source was used, in the experimental groups B1 and B2 plant oil was added. Layers of the control group were fed by the standard feed mixture. Different source of ME affected significantly the weight of egg yolks in the 2nd experiment (F = 5.761++). In spite of non-significant differences in the 1st experiment (F = 0.708) there was the identical decreasing tendency of the mean value as in the group A2 and B2, where 6 percent of fat was added. The percentage of fat content in egg yolk as well as in egg yolk dry matter was lower in the 2nd experiment in comparison with the 1st, while the highest values were noted in group A2. With the increase of fat content also the content of linolic and palmitic acid increased non-significantly, while the content of linoleic acid increased significantly. Myristicoleic, palmitic, palmitic-oleic and arachidic acid contents decreased.
