After long-term reduced soil cultivation methods at extremely varied locations with differing crops rotations the infestation of weeds was not higher compared to the conventional soil cultivation with the plough. In this context crop rotation and management by the farmer are very important. An increase in expenditures for herbicides was not necessary (with exception of absolute direct drilling). The number of weed seeds in the soil was higher after reduced soil cultivation
