Economic aspects of farm keeping of fallow deer and red deer

The objective of this paper is to present the first economic information about an operation of a consolidated production process and to define economic conditions of farm keeping of Cervidae in the conditions of CSFR. The methods of complex evaluation within the closed turnover of herd were used to evaluate the breed. A maternal organism (female deer) is the core of the herd. The entire production process is related to this production unit: external expenditures, movement of intermediate product within the herd reproduction and returns on final products. The first actual results achieved on a farm with fallow deer keeping and on a farm with red deer keeping have been summarized. Certain deformation of relations within the herds have been observed due to the initial problems of herd enlargement. This is the reason why model calculations were used in the final part where economic conditions are investigated.
