Air temperature and precipitation in relation to yield formation of main agricultural crops were studied. Data obtained in the 20-year period of observation (1961-1980) of winter wheat, spring barley, grain maize and sugar beet were evaluated. Effects of meteorological elements on yields per hectar were determined using three statistical methods: the correlation method, the phenological method and the method of productive and non-productive years. Statistical dependence refers to the significance of meteorological elements in conditions of the East Slovakia Lowland. Methods are mutually complementary.
