German. Grundlage fuer die noch recht junge Mutterkuhhaltung in Luxemburg sind die franzoesischen Fleischrinderrassen Charolais und Limousin. Die erzeugten Jungtiere werden nur zum Teil in Luxemburg ausgemaestet, viele gehen in die Nachbarlaender. Es werden die vom Herdbuchzuchtverband staendig durchgefuehrten Kontrollen beschrieben. Vorbild fuer die luxemburgischen Mutterkuhhalter ist Frankreich, wo sie ihre Zuchttiere teilweise herholen. Abschliessend wird der Zuchtverband sowie die Erzeugergemeinschaft vorgestellt.
