[Effect of seed dressing with lime in edible legumes under acid soil conditions from the central plateaus of Burundi]
1987
Landa, C.
Pot trials showed the effectivity of bean seed dressing with finely ground limestone under acid soil conditions. This method, along with phosphate fertilization, allows enhanced plant nodulation and significant DM increases; furthermore, soil pH and bivalent cation content remain almost unchanged. Under field conditions, soaking seeds in water prior to lime dressing is feasible for farmers. Production increases are obtained in soils with high Al content, resulting in marketable surpluses; this method, however, is ineffective in soils with low or null Al content
