The content of phosphorus in the dry mass of sugar beet tops and roots during the vegetation period

The results of three-year experiments in the soil and climatic conditions of a dry maize-growing area show that, at the 58.8 t.ha-1 crop of the roots and 41.5 t.ha-1 crop of the tops, 73.3 kg phosphorus is taken up from 1 hectar of land. Under the influence of gradated nitrogen rates, the ratio of phosphorus uptake by tops ranged between 31.72 and 38.44 kg.ha-1 and the uptake by roots between 33.88 and 43.65 kg.ha-1.
