Propagation by softwood cuttings of Amelanchier canadensis Medic., Cornus mas L., Elaeagnus umbellata Thunb. and Hippophae rhamnoides L.

English. Propagation methods have been investigated for four minor fruit species which may play an important role reclaiming marginal areas. Three cutting dates and two levels of IBA were shown to influence number of roots per cutting and average length of root for most of the species considered. Amelanchier canadensis cuttings rooted best when collected late in the season and when treated with 3000 ppm IBA. Cornus mas cuttings rooted best when harvested during the first ten days of June. There were no differences among collection dates and IBA treatments for Elaeagnus umbellata which rooted readily under all conditions tested. Hippophae rhamnoides rooted best when cuttings collected at the end of June were treated with 3000 ppm IBA

La prova effettuata ha voluto essere un punto di partenza per saggiare le capacita' rizogene di Amelanchier canadensis, Cornus mas, Elaeagnus umbellata, Hippophae rhamnoides, specie promettenti per una rivalutazione delle aree marginali e per la diversificazione dell'offerta frutticola. I risultati ottenuti incoraggiano a proseguire la sperimentazione su questi ed altri fruttiferi "dimenticati", al fine di mettere a punto un razionale metodo di moltiplicazione.
