Influence of Mentha (Mentha arvensis L.) spent on the size of microbial biomass and nitrogen mineralization in normal and salt affected soils

English. Two different soils, one normal and the other saline alkali, were amended with enriched and well decomposed Mentha spent. After one month of pre-incubation, mineral N (NH4 and NO3), biomass C and biomass N were estimated at 10, 30, 45, 60 and 100 days. Mentha spent addition significantly increased the mineral N, biomass N and "available N" in normal soil but the effect was less pronounced in salt affected soil. Biomass in Mentha spent amended soil was higher than that in unamended soil up to the end of the incubation period

Dopo un mese di pre-incubazione, son stati valutati N minerale (NH4 e NO3), biomassa C e biomassa N a 10, 30, 45, 60 e 100 giorni. L'aggiunta di residui di Mentha aumentava notevolmente l'N minerale, la biomassa N e l'N disponibile nel terreno normale mentre l'effetto era meno pronunciato nel terreno salino.
