Comparison among types of phosphorus fertilizers. 1: Effects on tomato (Lycopersicon lycopersicum L.) and sugarbeet (Beta vulgaris L.) production in different soils

English. In a four year trial in bottomless cases the effect of nine phosphorus fertilizers plus a control was observed on four soil types cropped with tomato and sugar beet alternate in years. Tomato responded much more than sugarbeet to the water solubility of phosphorus in the fertilizers. As an average yield efficacy of hydrosoluble phosphorus is more than double compared to the fraction soluble in neutral ammonium citrate solution only. For sugarbeet, on the contrary, both these forms were equally efficient. Commercial rock phosphate showed on tomato an efficacy little more than one fifth than that of the hydrosoluble phosphate, while this ratio was little less than one half for sugarbeet. Calcareous soils on the average yielded less; in these soils at least for tomato, rock phosphate had no practical effect, while differences among type of phosphate fertilizers were enhanced. The contrary occurred on acid peat soil, were rock phosphate efficacy was maximal. Production earliness was observed after application of simple phosphate fertilizers or calcium biphosphate compared to compound fertilizers, especially ternary ones; rock phosphate behaved like simple phosphates in peat soil. On quality characteristics of tomato or sugarbeet, as well as on accessorial production of the latter the effects of type of phosphate fertilizers were negligible or intermingled with complex interactions with soil, years and harvest

Inuna prova quadriennale, in cassoni senza fondo, e stato studiato, per quattro anni, l'effetto produttivo di nove diversi concimi fosfatici edun testimone non concimato con fosforo, su quattro terreni diversi, e due colture alternate negli anni: pomodoro e bietola da zucchero. I risultati mostrano che in media il pomodoro e molto piu' sensibile della bietola sia alla concimazione fosfatica in genere, che alle forme idrosolubili del fosforo. Queste ultime hanno, in media, nel pomodoro efficacia piu' che doppia delle forme solubili solo in citrato ammonico (sol. neutra), mentre entrambi questi due tipi sono praticamente equivalenti per la bietola. La fosforite ha sul pomodoro un'efficacia pari a poco piu' di un quinto delle forme solubili in acqua, mentre per la bietola essa e pari a poco meno della meta di esse. Nei terreni calcarei, in genere meno produttivi, l'efficacia della fosforite e praticamente nulla e le differenze tra i tipi di concimi sono esaltate; l'opposto accade in terreno torboso acido, dove l'efficacia della fosforite e massima. Nel pomodoro (o col fosfato bicalcio) con i concimi semplici si ha maggior precocita di produzione che con i concimi composti, e nel terreno torboso, con la fosforite. L'influenza del tipo di concime fosfatico sulla qualita dei frutti di pomodoro e modesta e presenta varie interazioni con terreno, annata ed epoca di raccolta. Analogamente sulla bietola nulli, modesti o banali sono gli effetti sui caratteri qualitativi e sulle produzioni accessorie
