A study on sodicity of water and zinc interactions in relation to soil properties, growth and yield of wheat grown on loamy sand soil

English. A field experiment was conducted during the Rabi season of 1988-89 to study the effect of different levels of zinc (Zn SO4 7H2O 0, 10, 20, 30 and 40 kg ha-1) and adj. SAR of irrigation water (Adj. SAR 20, 40, 60 and 80) on soil properties, height of plant, number of effective tillers and grain and straw yield of wheat (Var. Raj. 1972). The results indicated that the increasing levels of adj. SAR of irrigation water increased significantly the ECe, SAR, ESP and pH of soil while decreased plant height, effective tillers and grain and straw yield of wheat. [Un esperimento su campo e' stato condotto durante la stagione Rabi del 1988-89 per studiare l'effetto dei diversi livelli di zinco (Zn SO4 7H2O 0, 10, 20, 30 e 40 kg ha-1) e agg. SAR di acqua per irrigazione (Agg. SAR 20, 40, 60 e 80) sulle proprieta' del suolo, l'altezza della pianta, numero di polloni effettivi, resa di granella e paglia del grano (Var. Raj. 1972). I risultati hanno indicato che i valori in aumento di agg. SAR di acqua da irrigazione hanno aumentato notevolmente ECe, SAR, ESP e pH del terreno mentre hanno diminuito l'altezza della pianta, i polloni effettivi e la resa di granella e paglia del grano.
