Infestation frequency of anisakidosis in marine teleostei arrived at Milan fish market during a period of three years 1991-1993 [Lombardy]

English. In the last three years, at the Fish Market of Milan, 30.000 marine teleostei of 25 different species were examined to test the possible presence of Anisakidae larvae. The research has shown a number of parassites with an infestation degree that, in a decreasing order, was: Lepidopus caudatus 100%, Trachurus trachurus 40%, Merluccius merluccius, Scomber japonicus colias, Micromesistius poutassou 30%, Zeus faber, Lophius piscatorius, Scomber scombrus, Mullus barbatus 15%, Engraulis encrasicolus, Boops boops, Sardina philcardus 5%. We advise the immediate evisceration for the Lepidopus caudatus, "Sciabola fish", constant sanitary controls of the "risk" species, and a 24 hours storage at -20 deg C for Engraulis encrasicolus, as already mentioned in the EC regulations concerning other species like Clupea harengus, wild salmon, scomber scombrus, Sprattus sprattus, etc.

Presso il Mercato Ittico di Milano, nell'ultimo triennio, sono stati esaminati circa 30.000 teleostei marini di 25 diverse specie, per osservare l'eventuale presenza di larve di Anisakidi. L'indagine ha evidenziato un numero di parassiti con percentuali d'infezione che, in ordine decrescente, risultavano essere: pesce Sciabola 100%, Suro o sugarello 40%, nasello, lanzardo e tombarello, potassolo 30%, S. Pietro, rana pescatrice, sgombro, triglia di scoglio 15%, acciuga o alice, boga, sardinia 5%. Si consiglia l'eviscerazione immediata per il pesce sciabola, il controllo costante delle specie "a rischio", e il congelamento a -20 gradi C per 24 ore per alici o acciughe, come gia' consigliato da norma CE per aringhe, salmoni selvatici, sgombri, spratti, ecc.
