Breaking of deep dormancy of generative buds in some apricots

In 1982-1985 30 apricot varieties and hybrids belonging to 4 ecological and geographical groups were observed as to the breaking of deep dormancy period. From the results follows, that dynamics and the term of breaking of deep dormancy of generative buds was affected by cultivars, years, sampling dates as well as dates of the evaluation. There was shown also a highly significant effect of several, 2- and 3-element interactions. In the group with the earliest date of deep dormancy breaking were Krasnoshchekij Ranen, Silistra-4 and hybrids 597/19-I-6 and M-132-A-36. In the group with the latest date were Mareulesti-19, Pernsky Semenach-1, Bucuresti, Shirazskij Belyj, Cegledi Hajnalpir, Early Ryl and Kech Pshar. The average difference among these groups was 29 days. From the studied collection for introduction to Slovakia, following varieties are the most perspective: Marculesti-19, Kischinevskij Rannij, Legeti Orias and Early Ryl. The other varieties of this group are valuable breeding material.
