On account of the state of pesticide contamination sites of former agrochemical centers (ACZ) in the GDR a method for analysis of pesticides in soil has been developed. The spectrum of active ingredients comprises the most important organochlor-, s-triazine-, organo-phosphor-compounds, metabolites and isomers. The results obtained are compared with the critical values requiring redevelopment measures contained in the Brandenburgische Liste (1990). 24 ACZ of the state Brandenburg are evaluated with regard to pesticide contaminated sites
