Extract of leaves of 20 carnation cultivars, was submitted to vertical polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) for 13 enzyme systems. Variability in electrophoretic patterns was found in phosphoglucose isomerase (PGI) and leucine amino peptidase (LAP). The analysis of both enzymatic systems allowed to distinguish all the tested cultivars
