BSES [Bureau of Sugar Experiment Stations] reviews reduced tillage planting [sugarcane]
1994
Clough, R. (Bureau of Sugar Experiment Stations (Australia))
One of BSES' key roles is to help canegrowers identify the best farming techniques. In recent years, reduced tillage has attracted considerable interest in the industry resulting in BSES' involvement in various reduced tillage planting trials. Early results from a recent BSES reduced tillage planting trial in Innisfail have given further insight into the technique. The work has shown that satisfactory germination can be achieved under reduced tillage. This trial is discussed, and the future direction of reduced tillage planting.
