Effect of season and nutrition on scrotal circumference of Merino rams. [Short note]

In 3 experiments, groups of 5 rams fed a maintenance or a lupin supplemented diet were kept indoors with natural light and temperature. Rams fed the maintenance diet showed a pattern of increasing scrotal circumference starting in late spring after the equinox and reaching a maximum with the approach of winter. Scrotal circumference responded to increased nutrition, the magnitude of the response depending on the season.
