Tea Tree [Northern Territory] Ground Water Basin - results of investigations into the use of marginal quality bore water for irrigation 1970-1973
1977
Miles, M.R. | McEllister, F.V. (Northern Territory Dept., Alice Springs (Australia))
This study was undertaken to investigate methods of managing bore waters having high residual sodium carbonate (R.S.C.) values because chemical analysis had shown that a high bicarbonate content was a consistent feature of central Australian bore water. Initial observations are reported and the subsequent trials which examined whether increasing the calcium level in the system by adding gypsum would prevent or ameliorate soil crusting.
