Australian forestry work force: changes, comparisons and productivity

The substantial changes to the Australian forest sector that have occurred over the last 10 years have led to changes in the size, composition and productivity of the forestry work force. Earlier studies for forestry are revised with the most recent data available and comparisons are made between forestry and other sectors of the Australian economy. In so far as labour contributes to overall competitiveness, the record of Australian forestry appears to be at least as good as the rest of the economy.
