We investigated the harmfulness of Phytopthora nicotianae var. nicotianae on selected cultivars of tomato. After the inoculation of the roots and ripening fruits the reaction of the cultivars to the patogen was studied. We investigated the harmfulness of the other species of the Phytophthora on two selected cultivars. We performed the inoculation by wetting of the roots in inoculum and by means of the inoculum injection under epidermis of the fruits. We found out the susceptibility of all cultivars to PNN. Phytophthora cactorum. P. cinnamomi, P. cryptogea were not pathogens of young plants of the investigated tomato cultivars.
