Field trials were carried out in Torres Strait, comparing the attractiveness of polythene sachets containing 'swormlure-2' (SL-2) with the current method using glass jars, but employing endemic secondary blowflies of Chrysoma sp. (not C. bezziana). The trials indicated that the sachets were at least as effective as the jar method, and offer important practical benefits by reducing costs, making transport and handling safer, and making trapping safer and simpler.
