The Poultry Industry Training Program was developed by Murrumbidgee College of Agriculture in conjunction with Barter Enterprises to enable poultry industry employees to develop skills and expertise in their chosen career areas. The program was funded by the New South Wales Education and Training foundation with the long term aim of offering the program to the entire poultry industry. Thirteen weeks off-the-job training was provided at Murrumbidgee College and local poultry houses and 39 weeks on-the-job instruction at the workplace over a 12 month period. Details of the program, course content, course validation and training strategies are included.
