The tuber reaction of accessions of more than 60 Solanum species against Phoma exigua var. foveata, a fungal dry rot pathogen, was investigated in six test years. Clear differences in resistance could be detected above all within the species and not between them. The results showed no definite indications of absolute resistance (immunity) of the examined species
