1985
During May 1985 a team of agricultural economists was sent to China with the aim of initiating a collaborative research project on Chinese agriculture with the Chinese government. The project is now likely to be established, and will evaluate the possible future impacts of China's changing economic policies on agricultural production, consumption and trade. The report describes the current situation in Chinese agriculture, the present system of statistics collection and the Chinese Governmental institutions involved in economic policy.
