Coccidiosis of village chickens in South Kalimantan (Indonesia)

English. A study on the incidence rate of coccidiosis in village chickens was carried out in South Kalimantan. Six hundred and eight faecal samples were examined against Coccidia oocyst, part of the samples (27,1 percent) were positive. Seven species of Eimeria were found and identified as Eimeria tenella (13,3 percent), E. maxima (9,5 percent), E. necatrix (4,1 percent), E. mitis (2 percent), E. acervulina (1,5 percent), E. praexoc (0,8 percent) and E. mivati (03 percent). Eight faecal samples from District Banjar had oocyst counts (oocyst per gram) from 880 to 7.200.

Enam ratus delapan sampel berupa feses telah diperiksa dan diidentifikasi terhadap Emiria sp. Delapan sampel dari ayam-ayam buras di Kabupaten Banjar ditemukan oocyst per gram feses (opg) lebih dari 880, opg yang tertinggi di Kabupaten Banjar adalah 7.200.
