An equilibrium moisture content survey of timber in Queensland

The equilibrium moisture content (EMC) was monitored at 16 sites for 2 years. EMC was related to meteorological observations and reliable prediction equations were developed. Where minimum movement in service is required the moisture content appropriate for the locality should be used rather than the standard definition of 10-15 percent for seasoned timber.
