Eddin, J.I. (Agrarian University, Kishinev (Republic of Moldova))
The author determined the most efficient from the biological and economical points of view, variants of technological elements of growing intensive varieties of winter wheat for seeds and its qualities. Recommendations for a rational placement of intensive varieties after predecessor crops are elaborated, optimal time for sowing and seeding rate were stated, according to biological peculiarities of the variety and soil moisture content, which assures a higher grain yield of good quality per area seeded at minimal expense. On the ground of a 3-year-research period author considers advisable to recommend for production the following: 1. to consider as the best predecessors for the new winter wheat varieties, regionalized in Moldova for seeds, esparsette, and autumn sowing on bare fallow. 2. The optimal time for sowing winter wheat is late September (20-30 Sep) taking into account ability of new regionalized varieties to better support delayed sowing time. 3. When winter wheat is placed on bare fallow, varieties Odesskaia 117, Albatros Odesskii and Skifeanka should be sown at a sowing rate of 4.0-5.0 min, after esparsette, 5.0-6.0 min after pea for seeds and winter crops, and after silage maize 6.0-7.0 min germinated seeds per hectare.
