Influence of drying conditions on peanut quality and cost of drying
1991
McPhee, J.E. (Queensland Dept. of Primary Industries, Atherton (Australia))
Nuts were dried in small trailer-mounted dryers, using different drying conditions, to 3 different final kernel moisture content (FKMC) levels. The most severe drying regimes and the lowest FKMC gave the highest levels of damage. Subsequent work showed that there was no difference in heating fuel cost across treatments, but fan power costs were influenced by drying conditions.
