Arguments for the improvement of the tests concerning the accumulated phospatases in soils

The work raises in discussions the effect of the high concentrations of phosphoric acid and reducing sugars on the soil phosphatasic activity and the accuracy of testing methods of this activity. One presents experimental data and one explains the role of glucose introduced in the phosphatasic reaction mixture. The author draws the conclusion that a concentration of phosphoric acid over 10-20 mg P2o5/100 g of soil, can't inhibit the activity of accumulated phosphatases in soil, but that in the enzymatic reaction mixture one reaches to the phosphoric acid concentration from 200 till 1000 mg p2o5/100 g of soil by enzymatic hydrolysis of Na phenylphosphate, that makes possible the "feed back" action upon the rate of the phosphatasic activity. Introducing 100 mg of glucose at 5 g of soil in enzymatic reaction mixture, one removes the appearance of the "feed back" effect making the phosphatasic test more comparable between different soil types and levels of supply with phosphoric acid.
