A short account is provided of a study by the Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics. Two case studies are presented, demonstrating that remote sensing data has a potential role in both agriculture and resource management applications. The estimates of the magnitude of benefits received could be improved by developing better valuation techniques for the strategic and non-market benefits encountered in information delivery.
