Seeding rate for wheat and nitrogen fertilization as two factors forming the yield and its components
1994
Bavec, M. (Kmetijski zavod, Maribor (Slovenia))
The influence of plant density and nitrogen fertilising on yield, yield components and grain quality (protein content, sedimentation value) have been investigated in several experiments in Podravje area (E Slovenia) since 1987. The soil N-min and the N content in the plants have been analysed. For the cultivars marija, zitarka, zelengora, lonja and pinka 350-500 grains per square m are sufficient in the optimal sowing time. Higher sowing rate (650 grains/square m) are necessary in the late sowing period (marija, julius and olga). General recommendations can not be given. Higher N-rates increased grain protein content and sedimentation value
