Plant parasitic nematodes of legumes in Turkey

English. Surveys undertaken in Turkey, during spring 1991 and summer 1992, revealed that root-lesion nematodes were the most common of the several plant parasitic nematodes associated with chickpea and lentils. Pratylenchus thornei, P. penetrans and P. mediterraneus occurred throughout the country and were suspected to reduce crop yields. P. alleni and P. zeae were also present in a few fields. Among other root-lesion nematodes, Pratylenchoides leiocauda was widespread, while P. alkani, P. erzurumensis, and Zygotylenchus guevarai were present in a few samples only. Heterodera ciceri was detected in twelve fields of chickpea and two of lentil, although severe damage was observed only on chickpea. Meloidogyne artiellia was observed in one field only. Ditylenchus dipsaci was found in two samples of lentils. Other nematodes found in the soil were species of Helicotylenchus, Tylenchorhynchus, Paratylenchus, Tylenchus, Longidorus, Trophurus, Trichodorus, Criconemoides, Heterodera, Meloidogyne and Xiphinema index, X. pachtaicum and X. italiae

Indagini intraprese in Turchia tra la primavera del 1991 e l'estate 1992 hanno rivelato che i nematodi che provocano lesioni radicali erano i piu' comuni tra i numerosi nematodi parassiti delle piante associati a cece e lenticchia. Pratylenchus thornei, P. penetrans e P. mediterraneus erano presenti in tutto il Paese e sospettati di ridurre la resa delle coltivazioni. P. alleni e P. zeae erano anche presenti in alcuni terreni. Tra altri nematodi da lesioni radicali, Pratylenchoides leiocauda era molto diffuso, mentre P. alkani, P. erzurumensis e Zygotylenchus guevarai erano presenti solo in pochi campioni. Heterodera ciceri era individuato in dodici campi di cece e in due di lenticchia, sebbene si siano osservati danni gravi solo sul cece. Meloidogyne artiellia si e' osservata solo in un campo. Ditylenchus dipsaci e' stato trovato in due campioni di lenticchia. Altri nematodi trovati nel terreno erano specie di Helicotylenchus, Tylenchorhynchus, Paratylenchus, Tylenchus, Longidorus, Trophurus, Trichodorus, Criconemides, Heterodera, Meloidogyne e Xiphinema index, X. pachtaicum e X. italiae
