Pathology of bovine haemolymph nodes. 3: Comparative studies on haemolymph nodes - spleen and lymph nodes in cattle affected by bronchopneumonia or hepatitis

English. This histopathology of 480 portal haemolymph nodes (HN) was studied in 60 slaughtered young cattle affected by purulent hepatitis or catarrhal bronchopneumonia. A comparison was also made with the histological findings from portal lymph nodes and spleen of the same animals. The HN response was more similar to that of the spleen as far as the lymphoplasmacytic reaction is concerned. Differences were noted in erythrophagocytosis and in myelopoiesis. The former was much lower i the HN. Myelopoietic activities were high both under normal and pathologic conditions especially in the spleen. However, only HN showed significant increases in eosinophils content under certain pathologic conditions

E' stata studiata l'istopatologia di 480 emolinfonodi portali in 60 giovani bovini affetti da epatiti ascessuali o da broncopolmoniti e di 222 emolinfonodi portali di 27 soggetti sani. Per indagini comparative, sono stati studiati istologicamente anche campioni di linfonodi portali e di milza degli stessi soggetti. La reazione del tessuto linfoide e' risultata analoga negli emolinfonodi e nella milza, mentre si sono riscontrate differenze nell'eritrofagocitosi (scarsamente rappresentata negli emolinfonodi) e nell'attivita' mielopoietica, che sebbene assai rappresentata in entrambi gli organi, risulta accentuata negli emolinfonodi in condizioni patologiche e relativamente agli eosinofili
