A postal survey of beef producers in the agricultural areas of Western Australia was undertaken. The survey determined: the proportion of slaughter cattle sold by the various marketing methods available to Western Australian producers; the intended changes to producers' marketing strategies; the reasons for the current and proposed use of marketing methods; and the relative importance of various sources of information on cattle marketing.
