English. Chromosome breaking Ds (CB Ds) sites were produced on ten chromosome arms, bringing to 12 the number available for research. Chromosome breaking sites, gene suppression sites, and sites with both the breaking and suppression properties were found. Differing expression of targeted marker genes indicates possible location of Ds sites with regard to the marker and the centromere in many cases. Chimeras produced by the Ds-induced loss of the dominant allele of the targeted Dek1 locus, in Dek1 Ds/dek heterozygotes, reveal new aspects of the Dek1 phenotype, including aberrant leaf morphology, lack of chlorophyll, and the previously reported absence of the aleurone layer

Si sono riscontrati siti di rottura dei cromosomi, siti di soppressione dei geni e siti che presentano sia rottura che soppressione. Un'espressione diversa di geni marcatori mirati indica una possibile collocazione di siti Ds rispetto al marcatore e al centromero, in molti casi.
