What is town water worth? [Yass, New South Wales]
1991
Carlos, C. (New South Wales Dept. of Conservation and Land Management, Goulburn (Australia))
A survey was conducted using the contingent valuation method to measure the willingness of rural taxpayers in 1991 in the Yass Shire, New South Wales, to pay for improvements to the quality of their domestic water supply. Initially respondents expressed dissatisfaction with the water supply, but were reluctant to pay for improvements. However, after they were given extra information about the state of the catchment, they expressed increased willingness to pay.
