On the basis of 51 literary references, the study presents the use of enzymatic systems of barley (Hordeum vulgare) as genetic markers for genetic analyses, variety and genotype identification, markering of characteristics and traits, population studies and geographic variability in barley. The most important references to the methods of enzyme and protein electrophoresis in starch gel or polyacrylamide gel are also mentioned.
