Effect of grazing on native Gramineae in Concepcion, Santa Cruz, Bolivia [grasses; species]

For 57 species studied, 13 were significantly less abundant and 4 were more abundant in grazed stands when compared to ungrazed stands. In cerrado, grazing reduced the total number of species, and adversely affected the 3 most important relatively-palatable species, and the unpalatable grass Elionurus muticus was dominant in both grazed and ungrazed stands. Savanna wetland and semideciduous forest did not change significantly in species richness.
