Part 3 of a 6 part series, concerning the land use in the arid and semi-arid area around Charleville in south central Queensland. Surveys were made to determine the resources of the area: soils, vegetation, land systems and current land use. Soil, vegetation and land system maps accompany the report. The report outlines pathways for long-term, safe management of these fragile grazing lands and outlines problems that pastoralists face as they approach the twenty-first century.
