The effect of NPK rates and number of flower of Chrysanthemum morifolium Ram on its flower quality
1992
Wuryaningsih, S. (Sub Balai Penelitian Hortikultura, Cipanas (Indonesia))
An experiment was conducted at the Cipanas Horticultural Research Station from January to September 1991 to study the effect of NPK rates and number of flower per stalk per plant by using seedling from rooted cutting and basal shoots on flower quality of Chrysanthemum morifolium. A split plot design with three replications of each treatment was used. The NPK rates as main plot used 0, 5, 10 and 15 g/plant and number of flower as sub plot used 1 flower/1 stalk, 2 flower/1 stalk and 2 flower/2 stalk. The results indicated that there was no significant interaction effect between NPK rates and number of flower/stalk on stalk length, flower diameter and flower weight of two types of seedlings tested. The study suggested to maintain 2 flowers per plant. The effect of NPK rates on stalk length, flower diameter and flower weight were discussed
