Inventory of important banana fungal diseases in Banana Production Centers of East Java (Indonesia)

East Java is one of the banana production centers, which has limited informations on diseases of banana whereas the success of controlling attempts must be started from the characteristics study of the diseases agents. The diseases inventory was done at the Central Production of Banana, Lumajang and Jember, using stratified random sampling method. The result showed that the most important diseases were Anthracnose (50-60 percent). Panama (6-10.23 percent), Sigatoka (20-26.8 percent), leaf spot (Cordana sp.) (15-26,9 percent), and young fruit rot (Dothiorella sp.) (6-18 percent). Whereas the minor diseases; leaf spot (Deightoniella sp.), fruit-rot (Botryodiplodia sp.) and fruit-scab (Macrophoma sp.)
