English. The morpho-biometric characters of a population of Pratylenchus zeae found in a maize field in Argentina were compared with those of populations of different geographic origin (United States of America and Senegal). No substantial differences were observed between the Argentinian and the other populations reported in the literature. However, the study indicated that the number of the annules in the cephalic region, the stylet length and the vulva position are the most useful diagnostic characters within the genus Pratylenchus. I caratteri morfobiometrici di una popolazione di Pratylenchus zeae, rinvenuta in un campo di granturco in Argentina, sono stati confrontati con quelli di altre popolazioni di differente origine geografica (Stati Uniti d'America e Senegal). Non sono scaturite differenze sostanziali tra la popolazione argentina e le altre riportate in letteratura. Tuttavia lo studio ha indicato che il numero degli annuli della regione cefalica, la lunghezza dello stiletto e la posizione della vulva sono i caratteri diagnostici piu utili in seno al genere Pratylenchus. Di P. zeae vengono fornite illustrazioni riguardanti la variabilita' dei principali caratteri morfologici
