Comparative performance of improved pigs under improved and traditional management systems in a village of western mid-hills of Nepal

An on-farm trial involving fattening test of 7 Landrace and 3 Landrace X Yorkshire cross pigs fed with household cereal based feed stuffs and green leaves and kept in traditional sites under traditional input management, and 8 Landrace and 2 Landrace X Yorkshire cross pigs fed with standard amounts of commercial concentrate feed and kept in concrete floor housing under improved input management was conducted in 10 households of disadvantaged farmers in a village of western mid-hills. Each household was given one pig from each of the two input management groups in order to examine the two management systems for pig production as an income generation activity.
