Results connecting the dimensional stability of MDF type panels made from fibres previously treated with polyethylene glycol (PEG) are presented in this paper. PEG treatment did not improve the dimensional stability of the resulting panels. In fact, thickness swelling was much greater in panels made from PEG treated fibres than in control panels. The study also revealed a very good correlation between panel moisture content and thickness swelling.
