Content of oil and individual fatty acids in some species of alternative oil crops

Selected species of alternative oil crops were cultivated in field trials and subsequently tested and analysed for oil content and composition of different fatty acids. Different varieties of individual crops were tested on three different sites and under three degrees of N fertilization. During the investigated period the following minimum and maximum values of oil content in seeds of different crops were recorded: Camelina sativa 32.1 to 45.7 %, Carthamus tinctorius 18.3 to 26.9 %, Crambe abyssinica 23.3 to 39.1 %, Cannabis sativa 32.3 to 40.7 %, Coriandrum sativum 7.6 to 23.3 %. Statistical significant effect on the oil content was found in none of the studied crops neither in site, nor in N fertilization.
